About Yaya Tea DURHAM
Yaya Tea was originally established in 2008 in the LES (lower east side) of NYC as a small hole in a wall right on Henry Street & began as a family-run business. We quickly gained popularity as being the first bubble tea shop to serve freshly brewed premium tea leaves, hand made onigiri, and for our family welcoming vibe. We've now gratefully expanded to more locations on the east coast and couldn't have done it without our loyal fans! If your in the area we recommend checking out our sister locations!

Durham is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Durham is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across North Carolina's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

My favorite place to get riceballs, but sadly this has happened twice in which they forget to put chicken for the YAYA chicken, I let the first time slide but itβs happened yet again. Check your orders before leaving the place!

My husband was trying to put a smile on my face after my bone marrow biopsy by stopping by yaya because he knows that I like boba tea. It was a bad idea by stopping at this location. The customer service was horrible. The atmosphere was unwelcoming, bland and boring. My husband asked if the spring rolls were vegan friendly and the young lady rudely responded with a quick yeah as if he was bothering her. She never turned around and kept doing what she was doing which was absolutely nothing. So we decided to not order the spring rolls being that we are strict vegans and I didnβt have time for her ignorance. We placed our order at the kiosk and patiently waited while she continued to hate life and her job. She had a bad attitude. Her face was twisted and bent up like she was experiencing a medical emergency. Usually I would ask for a refund because I donβt like people with negative energy preparing my food and drinks. But because my husband was trying to make me feel better and not worry about my biopsy I just went with the flow. When our order was ready she didnβt want to say his name or serve us but she had no choice. To add insult to injury she tossed our bag of food on the counter

Had a wonderful experience here. We ordered on the kiosk and they have a large selection to choose from! We choose fruit teas, pork belly rice ball, shrimp tempura rice ball and the takoyaki. It was all very good. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing. Thereβs plenty of indoor seating along with outdoor seating! We came around 3:30pm and it wasnβt busy. 10/10 recommend!!!

Service is VERY slow, but everything is made to order. They need to work on getting the food out faster, 30 min for 2 onigiri is crazy and no one was in front of us.. it should not take that long. This shop reminds me of japan, because this is the only place you can buy onigiri in the area as far as i know. I ordered the matcha milk tea with oat milk, half sweetness, with lychee pop & a chicken onigiri. Everything came out delicious. You can order ahead on Snackpass, use the kiosk in the store, or at the register.

Ordered a fruit tea (the hulk), with less sugar. Honestly, it didnβt really taste like anything, or rather it tastes more like water with some mixed in flavor powder, rather than like tea. At least the tapioca itself was decent. Otherwise the place is super clean and the staff members were very friendly. Maybe it was just a bad luck, Perhaps will stop by again to try a different drink. They also sell some Asian snacks and merchandise in-store.
